What We Believe!

We believe that the Bible is God's word: every bit of it. Every word and every part is given to us through inspiration. Since it is God's word, it has authority to direct our lives. It is the only source upon which we base our beliefs and our way of life.

Il Peter 1:20; Il Timothy 3:16, 17.

We believe that God has always existed in three co-equal, co-eternal persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God the Father is a person, God the Son is a person, and God the Holy Spirit is a person. We worship a living, personal God, not an impersonal force.

Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 3; 4:24; Acts 5:3, 4;

Romans 1:20; Ephesians 4:5, 6; 2 Corinthians 13:14.

 We believe that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit have precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfection, and are worthy of the same worship, trust, and obedience.

Matthew 28:19, 20; Mark 12:29; John 1:1, 14; Acts 5:3, 4;

Il Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4, 6.

D. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man at the same time. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a perfect, sinless human life and died in our place on a Roman cross. He broke the power of death through the resurrection and ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father, where he prays for us and represents us.

John 1:18; Luke 1:30; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34.

◄═══════════════════════════►

 We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that he rebelled against God, chose his own way over God's way, and sinned. Therefore, God's wrath was against mankind, and mankind was

separated from the life of God. Man is totally incapable of

making himself right with God.

Genesis 1:26, 27; 3:1-24; Romans 3:23, 25; 5:12-28; I John 1:8.

◄═══════════════════════════►

 We believe that Jesus Christ died in our place on the cross to atone for our sins, and that all who place their faith in him are justified,

(declared righteous, or right with God), in God's eyes.

John 10:11, 14-18, 22-29; Romans 5:1-8.

We believe that every true believer is baptized by the Holy Spirit, and that the Holy Spirit is given to every believer to live in us, transform us into the image of Christ, and lead us and give us spiritual gifts for the Glory of God and the building up of the body of Christ.

I Corinthians 12:13 (see all of chapter 12); Il Corinthians 3:17, 18;

 Eph. 2:18-22.

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 1:11;    I Thessalonians 4:16, 17.

◄═══════════════════════════►

 We believe that all who by grace through faith trust Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

John 1:12, 13; 3:3, 5; Ephesians 2:8, 9; James 1:18;

I Peter 1:23; I John 3:1-3.

◄═══════════════════════════►

We believe that everyone who is born again is baptized by the Holy Spirit and so identified with the body of Christ. Water baptism is the biblical testimony of the professed believer.

Acts 2:28-41, 47; Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 8:36-40; 10:47; 18:8;

Romans 6:3, 4; I Cor. 12:13.

◄═══════════════════════════►

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both those who are justified

by faith and those who are not. Those who are justified will spend

eternity with Christ, experiencing the blessings and joys of heaven.

Those who reject Christ will spend eternity in conscious punishment

in the Lake of Fire.

Matthew 25:31-46; John 5:28, 29; Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15.

We believe that as Christians we are to meet together regularly

 for worship, to practice the ordinances of the church, and to

encourage one another.

Acts 2:42, 46; Hebrews 10:24, 25.
